Harbour city mall in TST yesterday... I can't believe that they already have the Christmas decorations...still two months to go.

acrobats

The streets of Hong Kong are full of buildings being built or repaired, and all of them have bamboo scaffoldings. 
I admire the workers who, like acrobats, move so gracefully on them. 

Hong Kong compte un nombre incroyable de bâtiments en construction ou en réparation. Les échafaudages sont tous fait de bambou. J'admire les travailleurs qui se déplacent dessus avec grâce!

talk about the weather / des nouvelles du temps

Already mid October and one feels the first signs of the fall. Days are getting shorter and the sun sets at 6pm, one hour later than this summer. It is less hot outside, and now we have around 25°c. it might sound a bit ridiculous seen from Europe, but after several months with an average of 30-34°, I do find it chilly ;o)
The good thing is that I can finally wear my jeans again, just the thought of them made me sweat not so long ago. I am going to have to do some de-cluttering in my wardrobe, and slowly give up the idea of wearing shorts and sandals…
the weather change has also enabled us to discover parks and natural reserves in HK; something we did this w-e with some friends of ours. We walked in the new territories from the Kowloon reservoir to the Shing Mun one. Two hours of walking, an incredible number of steps and a good sweat ;o) You really forget you are so close to an 8 Mio inhabitants megalopolis, when you seen green, rivers, monkeys… This was a fantastic experience and we’ll do it again soon I am sure!


C’est la mi octobre déjà et les signes de l’automne commencent à se faire sentir. Les jours raccourcissent et le soleil se couche à 18h, une heure plus tard que cet été. Il fait moins chaud et nous sommes passé à environ 25 degrés. Cela peut paraitre ridicule vu d'Europe, mais après plusieurs mois a plus de 30-34°, moi je trouve qu’il fait frais :o)
La bonne chose c’est que je peux finalement remettre mes jeans, que j’avais renoncé à porter car je piquais une suée à chaque fois que j’essayais de les mettre. Je vais devoir faire du tri dans ma garde robe et doucement renoncer à porter mes shorts et mes sandalettes…
Le changement de temps nous permet également de commencer à découvrir les parcs et réserves naturelles de HK; chose que nous avons fait ce week-end avec un couple d’amis. Nous avons marché dans les nouveaux territoires du réservoir de Kowloon jusqu’à celui de Shing Mun. 2 heures de marche avec un nombre incommensurable de marches, et une bonne suée :o) on oublie totalement qu’on se trouve à deux pas d’une mégalopole de 8 Mio d’habitants lorsqu’on voit du vert, des rivières, des singes… superbe expérience à recommencer rapidement!

Poésie urbaine / Urban poetry

This summer I went to Singapore for a few days. I had been there two years ago and this time I took time to just wander around without a tourist agenda. The thing I miss the most in Hong Kong are flowers, and Singapore is full of them! The botanical gardens are always worth a stop, and their orchids collection is amazing! This time I went to discover the newly opened gardens by the bay (http://www.gardensbythebay.com.sg/en/home.html ) and walked up in the trees. I then had a drink on top of marina bay hotel and watched a team fly their kites. Very poetic day somehow.

J'ai passé quelques jours à Singapour cet été. J'y avais déjà été il y a deux ans, et cette fois j'en ai profité pour me balader un peu sans arrêts touristiques. A Hong Kong la chose qui me manque le plus ce sont les fleurs, et Singapour en est rempli! Les jardin botaniques valent toujours le détour, surtout pour leur superbe collection d'orchidées. Cette fois je suis allée découvrir les gardens by the bay (http://www.gardensbythebay.com.sg/en/home.html) qui ont ouvert récemment, et j'ai marché dans les arbres. Après j'ai pris un verre en haut du Marina Bay hotel et regardé une équipe qui faisait voler des cerfs-volants. Un jour plein de poésie!

Vernissage

Recently I went to see the exhibition of the American artist Jenny Holzer at the Pearl Lam gallery on Pedder street in central. I've always had a soft spot for her work since I saw it in the Hamburg museum for modern art. You lose your balance and yourself by trying to capture all the words and sentences on the led displays. For the first time she did some work in Chinese and I thought the show was really great. Here are a few photos and videos. The show is till November 2nd, so if you get a chance, go and see it!!!

Il y a peu de temps je suis allée voir l'expo de L'artiste américaine Jenny Holzer à la galerie Pearl Lam de Pedder street à central. J'ai toujours eu un faible pour son travail depuis que la première fois que j'ai vu une œuvre au musée d'art contemporain de Hambourg. Je perds mon équilibre et oublie où je suis quand je regarde défiler les mots sur les écrans de led et que j'essaye d'en déchiffrer le sens... Pour la première fois elle a produit des travaux en chinois, et j'ai vraiment aimé l'expo. Voici quelques photos et vidéos. L'expo est jusqu'au 2 novembre, alors allez-y si vous pouvez!!!
